Volunteer
There are several ways to volunteer in Fairmount Park. Twice a year, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and PHS, there is a city-wide park clean-up day called LOVE Your Park Day. In the spring, LOVE Your Park Day is held in May, and in the fall, it is held in November. Typically this volunteer day of cleaning and greening attracts thousands of volunteers to various parks throughout the Fairmount Park System. This spring, LOVE Your Park Day is on Saturday, May 12th, so mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information.
Corporate Volunteer Park Stewardship Program
If you are looking for a great way to give back to the community and also have a team building day for your company or group, then you should consider participating in the Fairmount Park Conservancy's Corporate Volunteer Park Stewardship Program. This program is a day of service for your team and a lasting change in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park Sytem. The Corporate Volunteer Park Stewardship Program provides a meaningful half-day experience for teams of varying sizes at hundreds of park locations throughout the city. It's a great day of team building and volunteering in one of our city's most beloved treasures. Click to learn more.
Plant a Tree
TreePhilly is a new tree-planting initiative led by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation that directly engages property owners, businesses and neighborhood residents to improve their communities by planting and maintaining trees.
TreePhilly continues Parks & Recreation’s ongoing commitment to greening Philadelphia and supports both the City’s Greenworks Philadelphia plan and the regional Plant One Million campaign.
To reach TreePhilly’s goal to plant 15,000 new trees in the City in 2012, we need help and participation from residents, property owners, neighborhood organizations, civic associations, businesses and other partners. Working in neighborhoods throughout the City, TreePhilly will increase plantings and benefit neighborhoods for years to come. Visit www.treephilly.org for more information.
